Frequently Asked Questions about Quail and Pheasant Hunting

You need to bring the following items: shotgun, ammo, boots, hearing protection, hunting license. 

We recommend low brass 7.5's or 8's for quail and High-brass 7.5s for pheasants

Your guide will contact you 3 days prior to your hunt. He will inform you of the exact start time during that call. Please be there no earlier than 20 minutes prior to your hunt.  

Absolutely! We love when a customer brings their own hunting dogs! A 15% discount will be applied to your hunt.

10% is customary for outdoor guiding services. Please feel free to tip more if your guide goes above and beyond. 

We will do your best to reschedule you with a mutually agreed upon date. Please keep in mind the closer to the end of the season may be difficult to fulfill. If you have prepaid, we will provide a 100% refund if a date cannot be scheduled.

Yes, Mississippi Upland requires anyone of the property to sign a waiver.

All kids are different and progress at different speed, some kids spend more time behind a gun than others, with that in mind our age requirement is 10 years of age. Please note if your child is unable to make fast shooting decisions, we do not want to put a customer, guide or hunting dogs' life on the line. 

Yes, Mississippi Upland will clean, and vacuum seal all killed birds.

Our half day pricing sheet includes the total price for the members of the hunting group. i.e. If you purchase a Sportsman package the entire group will owe $1175.

No, we guarantee a shot opportunity on 60 birds. The kill rate depends on the shooting ability of the party. 

We can accommodate up to 16 hunters at one time. 

Yes, we will do our very best to make your hunt fit to your ability. 

No, Mississippi's quail population was once abundant and thriving, sadly those days have been long removed. We strive to make our hunts as close to wild bird hunting as once could imagine. We have great flying birds that will challenge any skilled shooter.
